Itis primary task is to protect state and local interests before the Un, ited States Supreme Court. The founding organizations, have Joined *in an effort to establish a G $5 million trust, fund, Income from the trust finances the Center"s operating budget,. The,, NLC,, USCM,, and ICMA pledge to raise $1.5 million as the municipal share.1 One million dollars has been raised with & 6 a contributions from over 1,,,000 cities and, state municipal leagues,. The associations are asking additional, communities to make a one-tim payment,, based, on population, to ensure that the interests of all c1loties will be represented in the Supreme Court.
