I <br />The Minnesota Ch�iefsi of Police Association, on March 22, 19899 passed <br />th�e following resiolution. <br />I , 11 1 s <br />WHEREAS the Mir Chiefs of �Pol�ice Association ha great <br />concern and riesponsibility, for the public safety of the citizens of <br />Minnesota and th,e peace, officers who serve under their direction; and <br />I <br />WHEREAS', military assault weapons, a hl as the AK'-47, AR-159 MAC- 1 M <br />IA -11, Uzi, and all other, s,im�il! ar military as'sault', weaponsg'are a <br />threat to public safety and to peace officers who are charged to <br />protect pluhl c safety; <br />1. <br />WHEREASS these military assault weapons were designed for military <br />I <br />use with no delmonstrablie uses, by s�portsmen and hunters; <br />NOW, THEREFORE., BE IT RESOLVED that the Minnesota Chiefs of Police <br />Association urges and suppoirts the Congress of the United States and <br />the Legislature of the State of Minnesota in its efforts to ban the <br />impl ant ation, distribut,ion, sales, and', possession of' such military <br />assault weapons.1 <br />Je .00 <br />Attest:, <br />Leg i s 1 at'1 <br />ve Chairman <br />
