The City has received renewal applications for 2012 as follows: <br /> 5 •'* 10 Off Sale Intoxicating liquor licenses (maximum of 10 permitted under City Code) <br /> 6 ❖ 18 On Sale 3.2 Non-Intoxicating Malt Liquor licenses <br /> "7 •:* 10 Off Sale 3.2 Non-Intoxicating Malt Liquor licenses <br /> 8 •'• 25 On Sale Intoxicating liquor licenses <br /> 9 •:* 4 Club liquor licenses <br /> '1 0 ❖ 14 Wine only liquor licenses <br /> 1 d'? Neither State Statute nor City Code limits the number of licenses that can be issued under the last five <br /> '1 3 categories of licenses. A detailed list of all liquor license renewals is included in Attachment A. <br /> '14 <br /> '1 5 At the November 14,2011 City Council meeting,the Council reviewed recent alcohol compliance failures <br /> '1 6 by 4 separate establishments. The Council voted to take those failures under consideration for license <br /> 17 renewal for two of those establishments. They include Smashburger and the Courtyard by Marriott. <br /> '1 8 POLICY OBJECTIVE <br /> '19 The regulation of establishments that sell alcoholic beverages has been a long-standing practice by the State <br /> 10 and the City. <br /> 1�11 FINANCIAL IMPACTS <br /> R,Ydll; The revenue that is generated from the license fees is used to offset the cost of police compliance checks, <br /> R�,����,,,,� background investigations, enforcement of liquor laws, and license administration. <br /> dll��n <br /> 24 STAFF RECOMMENDATION <br /> `25 All liquor license renewal applications have met Statutory and City Code requirements. Staff recommends <br /> 26 approval of the applications with the exception of the license for Smashburger and the Courtyard by <br /> d"?7 Marriott, which have been selected for greater scrutiny by the City Council. <br /> 8 <br /> Page 1 of 4 <br />
