EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF MEETING <br /> OF THE <br /> CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE <br /> * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * <br /> Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council of the City <br /> of Roseville, County of Ramsey, Minnesota was duly held on the 21st day of <br /> November, 2011 , at 6:00 p.m. <br /> The following members were present: Willmus, Pust, Johnson, McGehee and Roe. <br /> and the following were absent: none. <br /> Member Johnson introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br /> RESOLUTION No. 10946 <br /> Part-Time Firefighter PERA Declaration for Cory Burton <br /> WHEREAS, the policy of the State of Minnesota as declared in Minnesota Statutes <br /> 353.63 is to give special consideration to employees who perform hazardous work and <br /> devote their time and skills to protecting the property and personal safety of others; and <br /> WHEREAS, Minnesota Statutes Section 353.64 permits governmental subdivisions to <br /> request coverage in the Public Employees Police and Fire plan for a non-full-time fire <br /> fighter provided the fire service position regularly engages the employee in the hazards of <br /> fire fighting as an employee of a designated fire department. <br /> BE IT RESOLVED that the Roseville City Council, of The City of Roseville, Minnesota <br /> hereby declares that the position of Part-time Firefighter, currently held by Cory.Burton <br /> #50270, for primary services provided, that of a firefighter engaged in the hazards of fire <br /> fighting. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this governing body hereby requests that the named <br /> employee be accepted as a member of the Public Employees Police and Fire Plan <br /> effective the date of the employee's initial Police and Fire Plan salary deduction by the <br /> governmental subdivision. <br /> The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Member <br /> willmus, and upon a vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> Willmus, Pust, Johnson, McGehee and Roe, and the following voted against the same: <br /> none. <br />
