City of Roseville <br />Ethics Commission Meeting Minutes <br />Wednesday, August 12, 2009 <br />Call to Order: <br />Chairperson LuAnne Pederson called the meeting to order at 6:36 p.m. <br />Members Present: <br />LuAnne Pederson, Melissa Weldon, Patrick Schmidt, Margo Fjelstad, David Horsager <br />Members Absent: <br />None <br />Others Present: <br />City Manager Bill Malinen, City Attorney Scott Anderson <br />Approve Minutes of May 13, 2009: <br />Schmidt moved, Horsager seconded, approval of the minutes of the May 13, 2009. <br />Ayes all. <br />Review of Joint Meeting with City Council: <br />Chairman Pederson reported on the joint meeting with the City Council. <br />Electronic Communications Policy: <br />Malinen noted the Electronic Communications policy was adopted by the City Council <br />and will be applicable to advisory commissions. <br />While the Ethics Commission is familiar with the policy, other commissioners are not, so <br />there will be training for all commissions which will include opportunities for <br />commissioners to ask questions. <br />Newsletter: <br />Schmidt prepared a draft newsletter for the Commission's review <br />Horsager noted it was interesting and relevant, and suggested some additional topics for <br />consideration: <br />1) Noted gifts as an issue — could be good topic <br />2) Communications — electronic and other <br />3) Routing of complaints — where do they go - show accountability <br />Malinen will distribute to all commissioners, and employees - including department <br />heads. <br />
