City of Roseville <br />Ethics Commission Meeting Minutes <br />Wednesday, May 12, 2010 <br />L Call to Order <br />Chairperson Weldon called the meeting to order at 6:32 p.m. <br />Members Present: <br />Melissa Weldon, LuAnne Pederson, Patrick Schmidt, Margo Fjelstad, & David Horsager <br />Members Absent: <br />None. <br />Others Present: <br />City Manager Bill Malinen, City Attorney Mark Gaughan <br />IL Approve Minutes of February 10, 2010 <br />Horsager moved, Schmidt seconded, approval of the minutes of the February 10, 2010 <br />with correction to attendance reflecting absences. <br />Ayes all. <br />III. May 17, 2010 Joint Meeting with the City Council <br />Members will attend and discuss activities during the year, including any opinions. <br />IV. Discuss 2010 and 2011 Ethics Training <br />Commission discussed September 2010 and April 2011 dates with different approaches <br />including outside speakers, along with application of the code. <br />Commissioner Schmidt suggested inviting other cities and /or open the training to the <br />public to make it worth speaker's time to donate. <br />Commissioner Horsager suggested requesting an exception for 2010 to not have to have <br />training pending the 2011 changes; and also consider remote (on -line) training and <br />reminder desk tent cards. <br />In response to questions whether annual training is required, Malinen read city council <br />resolutions (10408 & 10489) that direct annual sessions. <br />Chair Weldon will ask the City Council for an exception to 2010 training and if not <br />approved, do small a session this fall. <br />Commissioners Horsager and Pederson will continue as training subcommittee for either <br />September or April. <br />
