Department Approval:
&(/ V
REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION
Manager Reviewed:
DATE: 7/13/87
ITEM NO.: /0
Agenda Section:
Reports and recommendations
Item Description: Proposed Central Ramsey WMO budget for 1988.
The Central Ramsey Water Management Organization contains portions of Maplewood,
Falcon Heights, St. Paul, and the southwest corner of the City of Roseville.
This joint powers created water management organization contains an agreement
wherein the board of managers of the WMO each summer is to propose a budget for
the following year and present it to the cities for their comments. The city
does not have actual approval or disapproval authority, but they are encouraged
to provide any comments or concerns to the WMO.
The proposed budget for 1988 is very low for this organization. It is only
approximately $2,500. Of this amount, the City of Roseville is to provide
14.7% of the funds or approximately $370.
These funds would provide for the administration of the organization. The
Primary role of the WMO for 1988 would include processing the management plan
through the various state agencies as well as overseeing the storm water
activities within its jurisdiction.
Funds for payment of these expenses would come for the city's storm water
utility and have been included in the proposed 1988 budget.
RECOMMENDED COUNCIL ACTION:
Approval of a motion instructing the city staff to notify the Central Ramsey
Water Management Organization that it does not object to the proposed 1988
budget.
