COUNTY SIGNS CABLE AGREEMENT <br />WITH TRIBUNE-UNITED FOR RELEASE: July 15, noon <br />Montgomery County Executive Charles W. Gilchrist announced today that <br />Montgomery County and Triebune-United have reached a settlement of outstanding <br />cable franchise issues. Thi's agreement clears the way for Triblune-United to <br />request the county's approval to transfer the cable franchise to a new <br />franchisee, Montgomery Cablevision, L.P. (an affiliate of Hauser <br />Communi cations, Inc.),, and resume construction of the system. <br />The Executive will hold a public hearing on the Proposed transfer and <br />the proposed franchise amendments, tentatively set for August 14, after which <br />he will mal,ke a recommendation to the Count <br />,y Counc i I Ea0 partic pati ng <br />muinicipa lit y, as wiell as the Cou-nty Council. must approve the proposed <br />amendments, and transfer before it becomes effective,.
