<br />EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF MEETING OF THE <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the <br />City Council of the City of Roseville, County of Ramsey, Minnesota <br />was duly held on the 23rd day of March, 1987, at 7:30 p.m. <br /> <br />The following members were present: Kehr, Matson, Cushman, and <br />Johnson, and the following were absent: Wiski. <br /> <br />Member Kehr introduced the following resolution and moved its <br />adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 8126 <br /> <br />Suppporting Special Legislation to amend <br />Roseville's Port Authority Act <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the 1985 Legislature approved an Act (Chapter 301) <br />providing certain powers of a Port Authority to the City of <br />Roseville; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said Act (Chapter 301) omitted certain provisions <br />permitting the City to acquire property with or without a reverse <br />referendum; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said powers to acquire property may potentially be <br />needed to carry out the City's economic development objectives; <br />and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, legislation (S.F. 796/H.F. 959) has been introduced to <br />enable the City to acquire property for economic development <br />purposes; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of Roseville <br />supports legislation (S.F. 796/H.F. 959) which enables the City <br />of Roseville to acquire property for economic development <br />purposes; and, <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that copies of this resolution be forwarded <br />to the City's Legislative Delegation and the appropriate and respec- <br />tive legislative committees. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly <br />seconded by Member Cushman, and upon a vote being taken thereon, <br />the following voted in favor thereof: Kehr, Matson, Cushman, and <br />Johnson, and the following voted against the same: None. <br /> <br />WHEREUPON said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted. <br />
