ii 0 , <br />Ital � a5e, <br />�71 <br />Date: October 24, 2011 <br />Item No.: 7j <br />City Manager Approval <br />Item Description: Approve Contract with Kargas-Faulconbridge, Inc. to Update the <br />Geothermal Master Plan for the Roseville City Campus <br />11 BACKGROUND <br />2 <br />3 In January 2008 the City, in conjunction with the Parks Department's geothermal skating center <br />4, project, requested Kargas-Faulconbridge, Inc FI) to commission a City of Roseville <br />5 Geothermal Campus Master Plan. <br />6 <br />"7 The Skating center is now three years old and the City is looking to incorporate a new fire station <br />8 into the geothermal plan. As part of the preparation for the construction of the new fire station <br />9 the City would like to have the 2008 study updated using current data and the addition of the new <br />110 building into the campus master plan. <br />13 The update will include the following: <br />14, 1. Update the energy use for the last 3 years using the actual energy invoices. <br />15 2. Review the loads for each building. <br />116 3. Review and update the energy model. <br />1 "7 4. Update the cost estimates for construction. <br />11 111",,'11 5. Meet with staff to discuss findings. <br />119 FINANCIAL IMPACTS <br />20 <br />2 i KFI has submitted a proposal to update the geothermal master plan for a fixed fee of $,5,000. <br />22 Reimbursable travel and production expenses incurred by KFI will be billed in addition to the <br />23 fixed fee. <br />24, STAFF RECOMMENDATION <br />25 <br />26 Staff recommends that the City Council approve the contract with KFI to update the City of <br />27 Roseville Geothermal Master Plan for the Roseville City Campus using current data and <br />28 incorporating the addition of the new fire station. <br />Page I of 2 <br />
