Department Approval <br />1XIEQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION <br />Date: 3/28/11 <br />Item No.: 7. h <br />City Manager Approval <br />Item Description: Adopt resolution Approving Agreement PW2010-26 between Ramsey <br />County and the City of Roseville for the County Road C/ Prior Avenue <br />Traffic Signal <br />11 BACKGROUND <br />2 As a part of the Twin Lakes Public Infrastructure Phase 2 project, a traffic signal was installed at the <br />3 intersection of County Road C and Prior Avenue. County Road C is under the jurisdiction of Ramsey <br />d <br />4, County while Prior Avenue is a city street. The traffic signal will be activated on March 23' . <br />5 POLICY OBJECTIVE <br />6 Ramsey County has prepared the attached Traffic Control Signal Agreement to outline construction cost <br />'7 participation and future maintenance responsibilities. The cost participation proposed in this agreement <br />8 is the same as other signal installations. A copy of Agreement PW2010-26 is attached. This was <br />9 reviewed by the City Attorney last November. <br />110 FINANCIAL IMPACTS <br />11 The cost to install this signal system was paid for by the City of Roseville. However, upon completion <br />12 of the work the County shall maintain and keep in repair the traffic control signal including relamping, <br />13 signs, system interconnects, and cleaning at its expense. <br />14, The costs associated with the maintenance and repair of the Emergency Vehicle Pre-emption system are <br />15 our responsibility. However, the work is usually a performed by the County. : <br />116 It is also the City's ongoing responsibility to pay for electrical expenses to operate the Traffic Control <br />1 ��7 Signal and EVP system.
