<br />Councilmember McGehee requested the following item on the 3/21/11, agenda:
<br />I', would like to make a formal request for a broad, long- range planning type meeting on
<br />development and redevelopment, preferably in the very near future. I', would like to dis,cus,s,
<br />our zoning "tool box" at that time as well Let me know if you need additional information
<br />at this time I', would like to have this with the Council and staff as the lower conference
<br />table, if pos,s,ible. I', think that format facilitates, more open discussion and exchange of
<br />ideas,.
<br />This item has been added to "Councilmember Initiated Items, for Future Meetings" pursuant to
<br />Rule #3: Agenda, of your Rules, of Procedure:
<br />Councilmembers, are encouraged to introduce new items, including background information
<br />and supporting materials, for discussion and possible action. Councilmembers, have the right to
<br />place items, on the agenda as follows,:
<br />A Councilmember may, at a council meeting., request that an action item be placed on a future
<br />council agenda, or;
<br />A Councilmember may make a request for an agenda item outside of a council meeting by
<br />submitting an email request to the city manager, with a copy of the email to the other
<br />Councilmembers,, no later than noon of the Wednesday preceding the council meeting. That
<br />agenda item will be included on the agenda for the next council meeting under the heading
<br />"Councilmember Initiated Future Agenda Items,'-' for notice purpos,es, only, not for action or
<br />removal from future agendas,, but will not be an action item. The item will become a regular
<br />council agenda item (i.e., for discussion and action) at the subsequent council meeting, or;
<br />A Councilmember may request the addition of an agenda item at the same meeting at which the
<br />item is to be addres,s,ed. However, the addition of an agenda item shall require the approval
<br />of a majority of the Councilmembers, present,
