Planning Commission Regular Meeting City Council Chambers, 2660 Civic Center Drive Minutes - Wednesday, July 6, 2011 1. Call to Order 1 Upon arrival of a quorum of Commissioners, Chair Daniel Boerigter called to order the regular 2 meeting of the Planning Commission meeting at approximately 6:30 p.m. and reviewed the role 3 and purpose of the Planning Commission. 4 2. Roll Call & Introductions 5 City Planner Thomas Paschke called the Roll. 6 Members Present: Chair Daniel Boerigter; and Members Peter Strohmeier; Jeff Lester Michael 7 Boguszewski; and Glenn Cook 8 Members Excused: Members Joe Wozniak and John Gisselquist 9 Staff present: City Planner Thomas Paschke; Associate Planner Bryan Lloyd 10 3. Review of Minutes 11 MOTION 12 Member Boerigter moved, seconded by Member Boguszewski to approve the special 13 meeting minutes of June 15, 2011 as amended. 14 Corrections 15  Page 1, correct date of meeting from June 1 to June 15, 2011. 16 Ayes: 5 17 Nays: 0 18 Motion carried. 19 4. Communications and Recognitions: 20 a. From the Public (Public Comment on items not on the agenda) 21 None. 22 b. From the Commission or Staff 23 None. 24 5. Public Hearings 25 Chair Boerigter reviewed the purpose and process for public hearings held before the Planning 26 Commission. 27 a. PROJECT FILE 0017 28 Request by the Community Development Department to establish a regulating plan 29 for the Twin Lakes Redevelopment Area as required by the City Code 30 Chair Boerigter opened the Public Hearing at 6:33 p.m. 31 City Planner Thomas Paschke briefly advised that the Regulating Map and Plan for the 32 Twin lakes Redevelopment Area had been further revised (DRAFT dated June 30, 2011) 33 for review and consideration at tonight’s meeting. Mr. Paschke noted that these further 34 revisions were staff’s recommendations for less restrictive regulations for the Map and 35 Plan, and were a direct result of public and Commissioner comment at the Public Hearing 36 held at the Special Planning Commission on July 15, 2011; and subsequent meetings 37 with Twin Lakes property owners. 38 For the record, Mr. Paschke noted the receipt of written comments, in opposition, dated 39 July 6, 2011 from Attorney John Paul Martin, with the firm of Martin & Squires, P. A., 40 Attorney of Record for Dorso Building Company, owner of the parcel at 2814 N Cleveland 41 Avenue; attached hereto and made a part hereof. Mr. Paschke noted that this was in 42 addition to the June 30, 2011 letter from this law firm for Dorso that had been included in 43 the meeting agenda packet materials. 44
