Parks and Recreation Needs Assessment Experience <br /> PARKS AND RECREATION NEEDS ASSESSMENT SURVEY (2004, 2005. 2000) <br /> Carol Stream Park District, Carol Stream, Illinois <br /> Leisure Vision conducted a statistically ra|k] survey for the Carol Stream Park District Jn'k`" <br /> January and February of 2004 to help establish priorities for the future of parks and recreation <br /> facilities, programs and services within the community. The survey was administered by a <br /> combination of mail and phone. <br /> As part of the p»«1v, Leisure Vision conducted a aerb:a of stakeholder interviews and focus <br /> groups to visit with Park Board members, partner organizations, stakeholders from the public, <br /> non-profit and private sectors, and community residents to understand issues of key importance <br /> to ask on the citizen survey. The o:auha of the survey were presented to the Park Board, <br /> toa series of action initiatives. <br /> The goal was to obtain at least 500 completed surveys. This goal was accomplished, with 519 <br /> surveys being completed. The results ofthe random sample of5lg households have ag5% level <br /> of confidence with a precision ofu1 least+/ 4.0Y6. <br /> Extensive cross-tabular nnnk/aia of survey responses was conducted for a wide range of <br /> demographic factors, as well as comparisons of the responses from Carol Stream to Leisure <br /> Vision's national bencbmarking data base. <br /> Leisure Vision additionally worked with the Carol Stream Park District on a follow-up survey <br /> measuring customer satisfaction and most important program spaces to develop regarding parka, <br /> and sports facilities inthe Park District. <br /> Follow-up surveys were conducted in2OO5 and 2000 <br /> "Leisure Vision and Ron Vine have contributed immeasurably/o the long-term success nfour <br /> Park District.
