Attachment E
1:=w
From:
Katharine Park
Sent:
Satuirday, ApriI 02','2011''7:28 AM
To:
Bryan Lloyd
Subject:
Pawn shop
Hi Bryan,
I think Roseville should deny the conditional use permit for a pawn shop on S,nelling, Avenue.
The reasons, that the conditional use permit for a pawn shop should be denied are essentially
the sane as these stated in the Roseville City Council meeting minutes, from April 28., 2008,
when a conditional use permit for a pawn shop was denied for a very similar location. The
reasons, are numerous, and include decline of nearby property values,, cost of regulation, and
more associated criminal activity than what is associated with other bus, ines,s,es,. Other cities
similar to Roseville, such as Bloomington and St. Louis, Park, have put restrictions, on the
number and location of pawn shops . For example, after studying the is sue, Bloomington has
limited the number of pawn s,hops, to 1, per 503000 residents,. Notably, Roseville has 33,690
residents, and already has one pawn s,hop.
Thanks,,
Katy Park
2070 Midlothian Rd
