Four-Sided Building Design: Building design shall <br /> provide consistent architectural treatment on all building <br /> walls.All sides of a building must display compatible <br /> materials,although decorative elements and materials may <br /> be concentrated on a street-facing faqade.All faqades shall <br /> contain window openings."this standard may be waived by <br /> the Zoning Administrator for uses that include elements <br /> such as service bays on one or more facades. <br /> E. Maximum Building Length:Building length parallel to the <br /> primary abutting street shall not exceed 200 feet without <br /> a visual break such as a courtyard or recessed entry,except <br /> where a more restrictive standard is specified for a specific <br /> district. <br /> F. Special or Object-Oriented Buildings:In some cases, <br /> a uniquely designed building may be proposed that is <br /> considered outside of these stated Standards due to its <br /> purpose,use,design,and/or orientation (e.g.a memorial, <br /> special civic function,etc.). If such a building is proposed, <br /> then it may shall be considered independently of these <br /> standards and would be subject to final approval of by the <br /> City Council. <br /> G. Garages Doors and Loading Docks:Garage doors shall be <br /> located to the side or rear of the primary building facade to <br /> the extent feasible.Loading docks must be located on rear or <br /> side facades.Garage doors of attached garages on a building <br /> front shall not exceed 50%of the total length of the building <br /> front. <br /> H. Waste and Recycling Areas:Trash storage areas shall be <br /> enclosed.Enclosure walls shall be of a block or masonry <br /> material and designed to match the building where it is <br /> located.Trash enclosures within developments of two-story <br /> or more shall incorporate a trellis cover or a roof design to <br /> screen views from above.The enclosure should be accessible, <br /> yet located away from main entries and residential uses. <br /> I. Buffer Strip: All new active uses (including dugouts, <br /> sports fields,park shelters,play structures and other active <br /> park uses),maintenance structures,and parking lots,shall <br /> be separated from residential uses by a minimum 20-foot <br /> wide landscaped buffer. A buffer strip that lies between <br /> a parking lots,maintenance structures and/or access road <br /> and a residential use shall include screening of headlights <br /> to a minimum height of 42 inches utilizing a combination <br /> of native plants,coniferous/deciduous trees,shrubs,solid <br /> board-on-board fencing and/or landscaped berms.
