MEMORANDUM <br /> To: Parks and Recreation Commission <br /> From: Lonnie Brokke <br /> Date: December 2, 2010 <br /> Re: Notes for Commission Meeting on Tuesday, December 7th, 2010 <br /> 1. Introductions/Public Comment Invited <br /> Commissioners and staff will be introduced. Public participation and public comment is <br /> encouraged. <br /> 2. Approval of Minutes of the November 9, 2010 Meeting <br /> Enclosed is a copy of the minutes of November 9, 2010. Please be prepared to approve or <br /> amend. <br /> Requested Commission Action: Approve/amend minutes of the meeting of November 9th, 2010. <br /> 3. Meeting Calendar for 2011 <br /> Review and discuss meeting dates for 2011. Draft calendar is attached. <br /> Typically the Commission has scheduled a retreat sometime during the year, you may want to <br /> discuss a month, date, day, time and topics that works best and fits timing. <br /> Requested Commission Action: Discuss and set annual meeting calendar for 2011. <br /> 4. Master Plan Implementation Discussion <br /> This is continued discussion on the details of the "path to implementation' . <br /> Commissioner Etten has agreed to take a lead facilitation role for the process of exploring <br /> implementation approaches and methods. The entire commission will be substantially involved <br /> and will be a guiding principle in the implementation direction. <br /> On November 15th, the City Council authorized the structure and process to continue forward with <br /> the Parks and Recreation Commission acting as the guiding principle expecting regular updates <br /> and communication to them as progression occurs. <br /> An initial organizational meeting was held on Tuesday November 23rd. A second meeting is <br /> scheduled for Monday, December 13th. Commissioners and staff that were at the meeting will plan <br /> to review the results of the first meeting and gather further direction from the entire commission for <br /> upcoming organization. <br /> Requested Commission Action: Discuss initial meeting and gather further direction <br /> 5.
