3. Upcoming Time Frame • The current plan is to move forward with a request to set a public hearing at the October 17 City Council meeting. The public hearing date would be November 14, 2011. • This timeline may change if the Port Authority process is used. 4. Function & Role of Organizing Team and Work Groups • It will be important for the Org. Team to continue to the momentum established • The Org. Team and work groups need to keep alive the concept of the future phases of the Master Plan regarding topics such as local option sales tax, community center, and other identified projects. • The group should continue to work to identify other resources like grants or labor assistance. Find people to lead those grant applications. • Randall brought up the idea of closing out the Org. Team as we know it. It may be beneficial to provide closure to the successful completion of the current stage of the implementation process. Members interested in continuing would certainly be welcome, but may provide a way to bring new people in to the process. Planning should begin for the next phase of citizen involvement. Parks and Recreation Commission may take on some of the existing Org. Team responsibilities, but the need still exists for active community involvement. It was suggested that another community meeting be scheduled with all of the work groups to provide closure to the existing work groups. 5.
