Rf- <br />REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION <br />Department Approval <br />Item Description.- Wildlife Management including Deer <br />Date.- 5-23-11 <br />Item No..- 13. e <br />City Manager Approval <br />A <br />BACKGROUND <br />2 <br />3 At your May 9th 2011 City Council meeting public comment was received on the Roseville deer <br />4 population, you, requested further information. <br />A single department is not responsible for a Roseville Wildlife Management Program so when in 2003 <br />the City began receiving calls regarding the deer population, Parks and Recreation was asked to receive <br />"7 and record the calls. On average, there have been less than 10 calls per year documented by Parks and <br />8 Recreation. The calls have primarily been complaints regarding damage to gardens and vegetation in <br />9 resident's yards. <br />'10 In 2004 the City began working with Ramsey County to monitor the deer population.
