. ft <br />In Appreciation <br />Abigail Valero <br />Whereas: The Girl Scouts of the USA has provided young women leadership opportunities <br />for more than 90 years; and <br />Whereas: The City of Roseville is committed to recognizing and honoring volunteerism and <br />the hard work of members of the community; and <br />Whereas: Abigail Valero is a member of Girl Scouts of Minnesota and Wisconsin River <br />Valleys; and <br />. .1-Y <br />Whereas: Abigail's interest in diversity led her to create a (,.-Y ,Inco de Mayo c.,elebration at her <br />school; and <br />Whereas: Abigail worked with her school administrators and other students at Cretin- <br />Derham Hall to plan a Cinco de Mayo celebration exploring the Mexican culture including <br />demonstrations of traditional Mexican dances; and <br />Whereas: Abigail convinced administrators to allow an out of uniform day so students could <br />celebrate the Mexican holiday by wearing red, green and white; and <br />Whereas: In recognition of Abigail's hard work, she has achieved the Girl Scout Gold <br />Award,, the highest award in Girl Scouting. <br />Now, Therefore Be It Resolved, that the City Council hereby declare May 23, 2011, to be Girl <br />Scout Day in the City of Roseville and urges all citizens to recognize Abigail Valero's <br />accomplishments of earning the Girl Scout Gold Award. <br />In the City of Roseville, County of Ramsey, State of Minnesota, U.S.A. <br />In Witness Whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Seal of the City of Roseville <br />to be affixed this 23rd day of May 2011. <br />Mayor Daniel J.
