Date: 6'/20/11 <br />Item: lo.b <br />9 <br />10 The Parks and Recreation Commission is looking forward to the joint Commission/City <br />11 Council Meeting on Monday, June 20, 2011. The survey presentation will be made just <br />12 prior to the joint meeting. Much of the joint meeting is anticipated to center around the <br />13 presented results. <br />14 <br />15 Ron Vine,, President of Leisure Vision will be at the meeting to provide you with a <br />16 detailed presentation and answer questions. Your report was delivered on Thursday, June <br />17 9th to allow review time prior to the 20th. <br />18 <br />19 The Parks and Recreation Master Plan has been an extensive thorough; citizen focused <br />20 and involved process that is approaching significant decision points that will affect the <br />21 community in the short term and more importantly, the long term. It is anticipated that <br />22 this night will be to review and provide important direction to the Commission, Citizen <br />23 Organizing Team, Citizen Implementation Teams and staff. <br />24 <br />25 There have been discussions at the Commission and Organizing Team levels about <br />26 funding options. It is important for them to understand what the threshold is for the <br />27 Council to determine what projects (dollars) should/could be done with abatement bonds <br />28 and what projects (dollars) should/could be done through a referendum. <br />29 <br />30 Should a referendum be desirable,, we have been notified by the County that they need the <br />31 title and text of a ballot questions by August 19, 2011. It would be important to begin <br />32 working with the City Bond Council as soon as possible. Working back, the timeframe <br />33 will be as follows.- <br />34 June 20th — Joint Meeting <br />35 July I I th _ Discuss recommended projects and costs <br />36 Decision on comfortable dollar amount <br />37 July 18th _ Decision on recommended projects and costs <br />38 Discussions with the City Bond Council <br />
