Date: 6'/20/11 Item: lo.b 9 10 The Parks and Recreation Commission is looking forward to the joint Commission/City 11 Council Meeting on Monday, June 20, 2011. The survey presentation will be made just 12 prior to the joint meeting. Much of the joint meeting is anticipated to center around the 13 presented results. 14 15 Ron Vine,, President of Leisure Vision will be at the meeting to provide you with a 16 detailed presentation and answer questions. Your report was delivered on Thursday, June 17 9th to allow review time prior to the 20th. 18 19 The Parks and Recreation Master Plan has been an extensive thorough; citizen focused 20 and involved process that is approaching significant decision points that will affect the 21 community in the short term and more importantly, the long term. It is anticipated that 22 this night will be to review and provide important direction to the Commission, Citizen 23 Organizing Team, Citizen Implementation Teams and staff. 24 25 There have been discussions at the Commission and Organizing Team levels about 26 funding options. It is important for them to understand what the threshold is for the 27 Council to determine what projects (dollars) should/could be done with abatement bonds 28 and what projects (dollars) should/could be done through a referendum. 29 30 Should a referendum be desirable,, we have been notified by the County that they need the 31 title and text of a ballot questions by August 19, 2011. It would be important to begin 32 working with the City Bond Council as soon as possible.
