REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION <br />Date: 7/11/11 <br />Item No.: 7. e <br />City Manager Approval <br />ii <br />Item Description: Part-time Firefi ghter PERA Resolution <br />11 BACKGROUND <br />2 The City of Roseville has established that effective June 13, 2011 all newly hired firefighters <br />3 will be offered the retirement benefit plan "Part-time PERA". In accordance with requirements <br />4, of the Public Employees Police and Fire plan a Council resolution including employee name and <br />5 employee number must be approved for each non-fulltime firefighter requested to enter the plan. <br />6 Therefore the Fire Department is requesting approval of the associated resolution. <br />"7 <br />9 The City will contribute the required "city contribution" amount as defined by PERA for the <br />110 firefighter pension plan. <br />11 STAFF RiEcOMMENDATION <br />12 Staff recommends Council adopt the associated resolution providing Part-time PERA pension <br />13 benefits. <br />14, RiEQUESTED COUNCIL ACTION <br />15 Adoption of Resolution requesting part-time firefighter Neil Sjostrom be accepted as a member <br />116 of the Public Employees Police and Fire plan effective the date of the employee's initial Police <br />1 "7 and fire Plan salary deduction by the City of Roseville. <br />11 111",":1'1111 <br />119 <br />Prepared by: 'Timothy O'Neill, <br />Page I of I <br />
