k" <br />REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION <br />Date: 9/12/2011 <br />Item No.: 7. d <br />Item Description: Request for Approval of General Purchases or Sale of Surplus Items <br />Exceeding $,5,000 <br />BACKGROUND <br />City Code section 103.05 establishes the requirement that all general purchases and/or contracts in <br />excess of $,5,000 be approved by the Council. In addition, State Statutes require that the Council <br />authorize the sale of surplus vehicles and equipment. <br />General Purchases or Contracts <br />City Staff have submitted the following items for Council review and approval: <br />The licenses for the Police vehicles will allow them to continue to have a secure mobile connection to their <br />critical data and applications. This replaces the licensing previously obtained from the City of St. Paul. <br />The spray injection patching is a specialized repair process that combines hot asphalt emulsion and crushed <br />aggregate using forced air. It is a permanent repair and can be done year round with traffic flowing <br />immediately after the repair. <br />116 Sale of SMIus Vehicles or Equipment <br />1 "7 City Staff have identified surplus vehicles and equipment that have been replaced and/or are no longer <br />11 111"":1'11 needed to deliver City programs and services.
