k" <br />REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION <br />Date: 8/22/2011 <br />Item No.: 7.c <br />City Manager Approval <br />Item Description: Request for Approval of General Purchases or Sale of Surplus Items <br />Exceeding $,5,000 <br />BACKGROUND <br />City Code section 103.05 establishes the requirement that all general purchases and/or contracts in <br />excess of $,5,000 be approved by the Council. This is a city-operated system and as a result, the City must pay for the <br />replacement costs. 3 quotes were received and Xcel Energy had the lowest quote. Once installed, these <br />lights will be operated and maintained by Xcel Energy. <br />14, The split-rail fence along Roselawn Avenue will be 1,300 feet in length and will run from Dale Street east <br />15 to the crosswalk on North McCarron's Boulevard. <br />116 <br />1 7 The pedestrian lights are for the crosswalk along Victoria Street at Central Park. They will be solar <br />11m, >, powered. <br />119 <br />20 Sale of SMIus Vehicles or Equipment <br />2 1 City Staff have identified surplus vehicles and equipment that have been replaced and/or are no longer <br />22 needed to deliver City programs and services.
