The district will also be exploring the option of <br />employing new legislative authority to bond for retiree health insurance benefits. I <br />believe this option will provide financial stability to the district general fund. <br />Cornerstone #8: To develop a strategic plan for recruiting new employees, retention <br />of employees and providing opportunities for advancement in all employee <br />categories and positions. <br />Responsible District Administrator — John Thein and Bob Rygh <br />Team Composition — INCA, Principals and Human Resources Staff <br />Planning Timeline — June 2005 — June 2010 <br />Pilot Project — June 2005 <br />Projected Implementation— Ongoing <br />Action to Date: The Human Resources Department formed a recruitment team that <br />attends local job fairs. The team has established an on-line application form to encourage <br />applications from outside the area and make it easier for individuals to apply. The <br />recruiting plan includes new brochures and a recruiting booth at job fairs, including the U <br />of M job fair. Special emphasis is, and will continue to be, placed on qualified candidates <br />of color. The number of employees of color has increased during the past year and is a <br />sign that the extra effort is paying dividends.
