"n T <br />,\oseville Citv Council Meeting Minutes <br />Specia,-,l Meeting of February 10, 2007 <br />Page 7 of 1,0 <br />Mayor Klausin2 observed that staff needed to be provided time to alert Council- <br />*MW <br />members via Work Sessions to day-to-day operational concerns (i.e,., relining <br />sewer lines) and important issues that had significant costs and would impact the <br />health,,, safety and welfare of community. <br />Counclilmember, Pust noted that through last year's Poal setting and in-put from De- <br />(tartment Heads,, staff and Council were abile to, put together a joint Ionia-ten-n list t.,T, <br />4-W <br />work effectively on those items4. <br />Councilmember Roe concurred with Councilmember Pust's comments; recom- <br />mending that staff'only provide a brief summary for public infon-nation. and then <br />allow more time for questions and answers, focusing on public input, to allow <br />meeting timic to, be used more efficiently., <br />Mayor Klausing concurred that when staff si'mply came forward and re-read their <br />si <br />report it wasn't an efficient use of time but questioned whether an additional meet- <br />31 <br />ing each, month would create more efficiency., <br />Councilmembers concurred to an additional meeting each month, as scheduling al- <br />lowed, to, ble held on Monday evenings. <br />4 <br />Counicilmembler !hlan. opined that a longer trial period was necessary, suggesting <br />three monthsor revisiting the plan in the summer given that some holiday months <br />would impact the overall trial run., <br />Councilmember Pust opined that the Council needed, to be honestly evaluating <br />themselvesi 'Individually and collectively, to determine if more work was getting <br />accomplished not just more talking about the same issues. Councilmember Pust <br />olbserved that when the Council was doing the people's business, they needed to do <br />
