<br />Meeting #3, June 28, 2007

<br />0 Lonnie began with explanation of the Natural Resources, Master Plan (NRMP), a plan dated June 2002
<br />that Included five parks in Roseville including Central Park. Jeff Evenson was unable to attend tonight's
<br />meeting- he will be at the July meeting to discuss this Plan and how it relates to HANC.
<br />In the meantime Committee members are encouraged to send him questions they may have about the
<br />Plan I (send questions via Jake (?)).
<br />Rose wondered if any of the recommendations, set out in the 111 VIP have been acted upon? Lonnie
<br />replied that yes, some have, including projects to removed invasive species such as buckthorn and
<br />purple lolos,estrife.
<br />Jake mentioned the group email address that we all can use — follow links at city website
<br />Discussion of Planning Committee field trip to visit two other area nature centers. With
<br />recommendations from Debbie Cash, it was decided to visit the grin brook and Wood Lake Nature Centers in
<br />Fridley and Richfield, (respectively.
<br />Date to be Saturday, July 21 (backup date August 18). Meet at HANC at 8-30 am. We'll plan to be
<br />finished by 2:00 pm. Details of field trip to be confirmed by P&R staff
<br />HOMEWORK assignment, go visit the Maplewood Nature Center (off of Century Blvd, — directions to
<br />be emailed to everyone). Take photos, ask questions.
<br />Report on any other nature centers (and the like,, such as the Bell Museum) you've visited, no matter
<br />T here. Pick up brochures, ask questions, take (pictures, and share with the Committee.
<br />James McNeal suggested we form subcommittee, to look into certain subjects. He and Jeff Seifriz were
<br />suggested to be on the Facilities and Grounds committee, reporting at the September meeting. Nancy put
<br />herself forward for a PR /Publicity committee. Jim Stark was suggested for a Website Reviews committee
<br />�(virt,ual tours).
<br />a Julie suggested using a listsery to put out questions about how others deal with topics we are
<br />struggling with.

<br />discussed and organized at a future meeting. I
<br />,July meeting to be Thursday, July 26, 2007, 6:30 — 830 pm. Jeff IEvenson will discuss the NRMP, well discuss
<br />all the brainstorming ideas we came up with, and we'll certainly discuss the field trip to the nature centers.
