This is truly an exiting <br />opportunity and we look fonvard to working with you in the futurel, <br />Pro'ect Uiiderstanidin <br />A <br />The City of Roseville "is an ever growing and developing coninitmity. Within this community <br />lies a significant resource of wildlife habitat, scenic views, and educational opportunities. This <br />resource is jai ntame d and supported by the Harriet Alexander Nature Center (HANC). The <br />Nature Center provides the opportunity to experience, study and enjoy the natural world. It is <br />host to many educational programs and recreational activities. Friends of Roseville's Harriet <br />Alexander Nature Center (FOYUJANQ Is an independent 111ODPrOfitorgan zit ion'which was <br />created lo support and flund the operations of the Nature Center. A Board of Directors oversees <br />the Nature Ccnter activities and pai-ticipates in decision niaking processes. Recently, the City <br />recognizvA the need for a comprehensive master plan for the Nature Center and surrounding <br />areal, as well as the need to improve the ecological and habitat fitnetion of the Nature Center. <br />Preliminary Goals <br />In planning for the developinent and iinproveirents of HANC, the City "Is seeking a participatory <br />and well documented master planning process that reflects the vision of the project stakehol&rs <br />alli d nick es the most of the unique opportunities provided by this site. The ultimate master plan <br />should Provide a health y balance of outdoor recreation opportunilies, efteational programining, <br />and natural resource preservation and enhancenicut. <br />Educational Programs and Facilities <br />Currently, HANK I's hiost to a variety of seasonal childrien outreach prograills. The Center is <br />working with one neighboring school adjacent to the, site.
