A portion of the Council action dealt with micro chipping animals. <br />The Police Department's previous presentations included information the Department was not equipped <br />with a micro chip reader to aid in returning stray animals to: their proper owners and would need to <br />purchase a reader for several hundred dollars. <br />At the Octobler 8, 2007, Council meeting, Dr. Lori Ballinger, DVM, volunteered to donate a "micro- <br />chip reader" t the Police Department to aid in identifying the owners of stray animals. <br />01 <br />Dr. Ballinger has since delivered the reader to the Police Department. <br />� <br />I rl <br />Nio financial impact <br />Staff Reclommendatilow, <br />,Accept the donation of the approximately $200 Date Mars "RF Identification Unit" to aid the Police <br />Department in returning stray animals to their owners 'in a timely fashion - <br />Council Actilon Re g nested <br />Accept the donation <br />
