Public Facility Needs -Long Term Facility Needs <br />Discussion continued on long-term facility needs- the City's current emphasis on Master <br />Park and Facilities Plans for inclusion in the City's annual budget process and consistent <br />with the Imagine process and vision; current Fairview facility functioning as a <br />community gathering space; and the need for other space for youth activities and <br />gathering outside of school; and recognition of the only viable youth space now available <br />was that of R-2 at the Hamline Shopping Center operated cooperatively by a coalition of <br />local churches. <br />Possible Action Work to engage other organizations in the community <br />(civic and faith or non-profits) for community programming needs. <br />Possible Action Pursue safe places where kids could congregate for <br />programmed and non-programmed activities. <br />Possible Action Create a better inventory of existing community facilities <br />to determine what is available and what may be needed. Involve citizens for their input in <br />what was missing, how best to focus resources and avoid redundancy. <br />Telecommunication Needs <br />M <br />City of Roseville Information Technology/Network Manager provided information on <br />shared technology efforts with other municipalities and agencies for management and <br />shared telecommunication and networking technologies. <br />Possible Action Explore opportunities to share data and voice technologies. <br />Possible Actions A joint commitment by the School Board and City for <br />ongoing and continual review and update of the Imagine Roseville 2025 goals and <br />strategies, based on community-wide needs <br />Possible Action Each organization process the discussion and report back <br />to their respective boards for further discussion; then share those discussions with each <br />other, proceed; and come up with a joint task force to I the inventory would provide a <br />tremendous amount of information while not creating a significant financial burden to <br />either entity. <br />Possible Action City and School District staff provide a joint list to ensure <br />everyone was working of same page and to return with a synthesis of the discussion. <br />Possible Action The Board and Council can appoint a subcommittee of <br />each group and high-level staff to formalize a long term working relationship. <br />%1.11 <br />0 <br />
