EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Roseville,, County of Ramsey, Minnesota was duly held on the I st day of December, 2008,, at 6.-00 p.m. The following members were present.* and the following were absent.- Member introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption.- RESOLUTION No. Authorizing Application of Active Living Ramsey County 1,000 Benches Program Grant for Langton Lake Pathway to Health WHEREAS,, Active Living Ramsey County (ALRC) is a partnership dedicated to creating and promoting environments that make it safe and convenient for people to integrate physical activity into their daily routine; and WHEREAS,, Ramsey County has created the 1,000 Benches Program as part of ALRC,, that seeks to install pathways to health, which are networks of benches that link local destinations and which are geared to people that are not typically very active and WHEREAS,, the Ramsey County Board of Commissioners has approved funding for the 1 ,000 Benches Program, and has funds available through a grant process to match the cost of local pathways up to $,600 per installed bench; and WHEREAS the City of Roseville desires to implement a pathway to health; and p I WHEREAS,, the City of Roseville has secured funding commitments from the City of Roseville Park Improvement (PIP) budget to pay for the local match for a bench project. NOW,, THEREFORE,, BE IT RESOLVED,, the City of Roseville hereby approves and authorizes submission of an application for a pathway for the 1,000 Benches Program, attached hereto.
