Such ordinance m'ay pro vide for the sale of such property to the 5 highest bidder at public auction... To allow the police department the means to dispose of -through 6 public auction--the sale of confiscated, recovered, and found items whose owners could not be "7 identified or located,, the City adopted Ordinance 849.- Sale of Unclaimed Pro 9 The police department has been disposing of unclaimed property from its property room for ten plus I ('_) years through the use of local-only, public auctioneering firms. Monies earned from these auctions are "I'll credited to the City's general fund.
