MEQUEST FOR, COUNCIL ACTION <br />Department Approval <br />ui J 01 11 11111*,-vp <br />Item Description: Twin Lakes Infrastructure Update <br />r1T mm <br />Date: 11/17/08 <br />Item No.: 13.b <br />City Manager Approval <br />2 The purpose of this report is to provide the City Council an update in regards to the status of the design <br />1 3 work for the Twin Lakes infrastructure. Staff would also like to give an update on the DEED grant <br />41 recently award. d to the City to assist in the construction costs of the Twin Lakes infrastructure. <br />5 Finally, staff would like to discuss the potential timing and funding options for the infrastructure to be <br />6 constructed. <br />7 Twin Lakes Infrastructure Design Update <br />8 The City's consulting engineer, WSB, continues to make progress on the design of the public <br />infrastructure within and adjacent to the Twin Lakes AU AR Subarea 1. These include: <br />Intersection improvements at County Road C and Cleveland Avenue <br />Cleveland Ave / 135W ramp and intersection improvements <br />1� 2 0 Intersection improvements at Fairview and Terrace Drive <br />0 Twin Lakes Parkway from Cleveland Ave. to Fairview Ave <br />0 Mount Ridge Road from County Road C2 to Twin Lakes Parkway <br />1� 5 0 Prior Avenue south of Twin Lakes Parkway to County Road C <br />1� 6 0 Municipal utilities including sanitary sewer, water, and stormwater. <br />1� 7 It is anticipated that plans and specifications for these improvements will be completed by the end of <br />1 r � February 2009. We have requested that WS B develop these plans with maximum flexibility so that the <br />1 projects can be broken out into smaller bid packages. These improvements could then be phased in as <br />2o redevelopment occurs. <br />2,,i� DEED Grant <br />22 On July 21, 2008, the City Council authorized staff to apply for a Redevelopment Grant administered <br />23 by the State of Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED) to assist in <br />2,4 the construction of a portion of the Twin Lakes AUAR Subarea I infrastructure.
