There is a resolution on the Council
agenda for December 17, 2007 related to our client which we encourage you to adopt.
The Resolution
In brief, the Resolution restates what has been the past position of the City, in reiterating
that (1) the property is underdeveloped and blighted; (ii) the property is located within the Twin
Lakes redevelopment district and (11'i) if the property cannot be acquired through negotiation by a
qualified redeveloper, that the City will, to the extent of its autbority, use its power of eminent
domain to do so.
The Durso property has been considered to be a site capable of being recteve I ioped
without extraordinary infrastructure contemplated by the larger Twin Lakes redevelopment plan.
It is not plagued by the environmental problems of other tracts in the area. For these reasons and
others, Rottlund, the General Services Administration (GSA), and now Opus Northwest, LLC
have expressed interest in the property.
