ATTACHMENT B,
Q: Why purchase Stalker speed boards and not another brand?
A.- Purchasing Stalker speed boards would compliment the department's existing two
Stalker speed boards and one radar trailer, thus simplifying training, maintenance
and warranty tracking.
How does the speed board work?
A.- The speed board does not capture photographs, nor does it retain any data. The
speed board is simply a tool to make drivers more aware of their speed and
surroundings.
Q: How does a citizen make a traffic complaint related to speed and request a speed
board in there neighborhood?
A.- The Roseville Police Department currently has one dedicated officer in our
Traffic Unit. That officer can be reached a number of ways.
1) Traffic Unit direct phone #(651)792 -7299
2) E-mail Traffic Officer through the police department web site
3) Contact Ramsey County dispatch non-emergency #(651)767 -0640
4) Contact the police department M-F, at (651)792 -7008
Q: How many people does it take to set up the speed board?
A.- Depending on what the speed board is being attached to, it can take up to two
persons to attach the speed board to a City sign.
Can the
..r r6 wto
A.- The solar powered speed boards are usually reserved for permanently mounted
units. Normally our complaints vary in location and time of day. Portable units
would be more cost efficient. Solar powered units also take more maintenance,
for instance when we encounter a number of days of overcast the internal battery
must be removed and charged separately at the police department.
