F. Haglin & Sons, Inc. has been hired by Rosedale Center at 1395 Highway 36 W to construct new <br />3 entryway elements to the mall. The locations are at the east entrance adjacent Macaroni Grill location <br />4 and the west entrance near the Ruby Tuesday restaurant. This work is scheduled to begin in late July. <br />5 We have received a request from the Contractor,, to extend the weekday working hours in an effort to <br />6 ensure that the safety of Mall Customers. These mall entrances will remain open during construction. <br />"7 Avoiding heavy construction activities during the hours that the mall is open will reduce the <br />8 inconvenience to the public and maintain a safe passage in and out of the center. The nearest residential <br />9 properties are approximately 1 100 feet from the work at the east entrance and 1300 feet from the west <br />I ('-) work site. <br />"I'll <br />12 The requested variance is to City Code Section 405.03 HOURLY RESTRICTIONS OF CERTAIN <br />13 OPERATIONS which permits construction activities to occur between the hours of seven o'clock (7.-00) <br />14 A.M. and ten o'clock (10.-00) P.M. on any weekday, or between the hours of nine o'clock (9:00) A.M. <br />I and nine o'clock (9.-00) P.M. on any weekend or legal holidays. They are seeking a variance for the <br />16 following dates and times.- Weekdays, 7/22/08 tol 1/14/08.- Work I.-OOAM to 7.-OOAM <br />I ��7 <br />18 A variance to this section of code requires a Public Hearing before the City Council, per code section <br />19 4�05.04�. We have mailed out Public Hearing notices to all properties within 350 feet of the corridor. <br />Z,,:,) Any comments that we receive will be shared with the City Council as a part of the Public Hearing. <br />2 1 POLICY OBJECTIVE <br />22 Minimize noise disturbance to residents during evening, nighttime, and weekend hours. Avoiding heavy <br />23 construction activities during the hours that the mall is open will reduce the inconvenience to the public <br />24 and maintain a safe passage in and out of the center. <br />25 FINANCIAL IMPACTS <br />26 There is no direct financial impact to the City of Roseville. <br />27 STAFF RECOMMENDATION <br />2, Given the distance to residential properties staff feels there should be minimal chance of disruption to <br />29 residents.
