I A <br />Department Approval <br />l <br />REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION <br />Date.- 10/27/08 <br />Item No..- I La <br />City Manager Approval <br />Item Description.- Public Hearing for Damico & Sons LLC to Consider an On-Sale Wine and On- <br />Sale 3.2 Liquor License <br />1 BACKGROUND <br />2 On October 13,, 2008,, the City Council established a public hearing to consider the issuance of an on-sale <br />%1.11 <br />3 wine and on-sale 3.2 liquor license at 1490 County Road B. The City Attorney will make a final review of <br />4 the application prior to the issuance of the license to ensure that it is in order. A representative of Damico <br />5 & Sons LLC is expected to attend the hearing to answer any Council inquiries. <br />6 POLICY OBJECTIVE <br />"7 The issuance of liquor licenses are considered at a public hearing as required by City Code. <br />%1.11 <br />8 FINANCIAL IMPACTS <br />9 The revenue that is generated from the license fees is used to offset the cost of compliance checks, <br />1 ('.') background investigations, enforcement of liquor laws and licensing. <br />11 STAFF RECOMMENDATION <br />12 Staff is recommending that the Council approve the liquor license for the period November, 2008 through <br />13 December 31, 2009. <br />14 REQUESTED COUNCIL ACTION <br />1 Conduct a public hearing and take subsequent action on the license later that evening. <br />16 <br />Prepared by: Chris Miller., Finance Director <br />Attachments: A: Application <br />1 ��7 <br />Page I of I <br />
