We <br />Rj <br />In 2004 Council began moving to a more equal contribution per employee, regardless of the <br />employee's family status and lifestyle choices, as supported by an employee survey done that <br />year. Staff has also made minimal strides toward more equalized contributions, but any <br />strides have has been off set by enormous premium increases and plan design changes the <br />City has faced over the past few years. The City in looking globally feels that equalization <br />strides need to be put on hold for now to minimize the impact to the group as a whole as <br />much as is possible. <br />With the 2009 plan designs as well as future struggles to keep premiums affordable yet <br />minimize potential deductible risks as much as possible the staff recommends approving the <br />following 2009 monthly cafeteria contribution levels.- <br />opt out.- $,410 an 8% increase to allow insurance purchased outside the <br />I <br />City group insurance). <br />With the premium expense increasing for 2009 and the deductibles remaining <br />constant, staff recommends providing all additional cafeteria dollars to be used toward <br />payment of the premiums. <br />Those on either of the $1,000 Deductible Plans would receive: <br />■ Single.- $,550 (increase of $55) <br />■ Single + 1.- $,665 (increase of $55) <br />■ Family.- $,875 (increase of $75) <br />Those on the $2,500 Deductible Plan would receive: <br />■ Single.- $,660 (increase of $,55) <br />■ Single + 1.- $,765 (increase of $,55) <br />■ Family.- $,950 (increase of $,75) <br />Monthly contributions deposited into a Health Reimbursement Account or Health <br />Savings Account are as follows: <br />■ $1,000 Deductible Plan Monthly Deposit: <br />41, Single $,83 (same as 2008), <br />Single + 1 $,90 (same as 2008), <br />Family $,70 (same as 2008) <br />■ $2,500 Deductible Plan Monthly Deposit: <br />• Single $,200 (same as 2008) <br />• Single + 1 $,170 (same as 2008) <br />• Family $,125 (same as 2008) <br />Dental Renewal:. <br />After review of the 2008 claims in comparison with premiums brought in and the <br />marketplace, the Benefit's Committee and the Delta dental claims professionals recommend <br />staying self insured with Delta dental again in 2008 with a $,2 per month increase to single + <br />K <br />
