You had <br />requestied my 'interpretation of existing Code concerning City responsibility for repair of <br />private utility service lines. <br />With respect to water service fines, City Code Section 801.67 provides that "It shall be <br />the responsibility of the consumer or owner to maintain the. service pipe from the water main <br />into the hom r building."" With. respect to sanitary sewer lines, Code Section 802.0.6(1,,)(2) <br />p ides, similiarly, that "It shall be the responsibility of'the owner- or occupant to maintain the <br />pry 1 1, <br />sewer service frorn the tinain. sewer into the home or building." <br />As we have discussed, the above Code sections are quite clear, and do not contain any <br />pro ir fimflnv- lan2unre whch would allow the C' articipate in part in a service line <br />Visois 0 1 1 1 1 AV to P <br />repair. if such, langua,ge i�s desired, the Code sholuld, be amended.
