Lifting/Carrying.- <br />• Ground to Waist Level- 100 pounds <br />- Dragging/removing fire victims <br />- Advancing hose lines at fires <br />- Carrying fans, rescue tools, foam containers <br />0 Waist to Shoulder Level- 50 pounds <br />- Opening and closing hydrant valves <br />- Making hose connections <br />- Lifting/carrying ladders, hose bundles, and other equipment <br />* Above Shoulders- 35 pounds <br />Placing lad.ders against buildings <br />Pulling lad.der halyard. to extend. lad.ders <br />Using axe and. other equipment to ventilate a structure during a fire <br />Lifting equipment onto fire apparatus <br />2. Firm Grasp: <br />Carrying items of substantial weight; i.e., fans, rescue equip. foam containers <br />Using axes or sledgehammers <br />Using hydrant wrenches <br />Dragging victims or hose lines <br />Pulling lad.der rope halyards or u.sing rope to lift objects <br />3. Simple Grasp: <br />0 Carrying items; i.e. lad.ders, hose bundles, hose rolls, and. various equipment <br />4. Reaching, Bend.ing, and. Twisting: <br />• Picking up and. carrying lad.ders, hoses, and. other fire and. rescue equipment <br />• Raising lad.ders against a structure <br />• Opening hydrants <br />• Connecting hose lines <br />• Using axes, sled. eham mers and. rescue tools <br />9 <br />• Mu.st be capable of reaching and. extend.ing the hands and/or arms in any direction <br />5.
