Department Approval <br />DATE: 7/28/2008 <br />ITEM NO: 1l <br />City Manager Approval <br />Item Description: Consideration of a Zoning, Ordinance Text Amendment of Sections <br />101.4 (Variances) and 101 (Administration) of the City Code to clarify <br />and expand the process of administratively approving minor deviations <br />from Code requirements (PRO J-0015) <br />11 1.0 REQUESTED ACTION <br />2 Consider a ZONING ORDINANCE TEXT AMENDMENT, proposed by Community <br />3 Development staff, which would resolve outstanding issues with the existing Setback <br />4 Permit ordinance and broaden the process to include other land use issues. <br />2.0 SUMMARY OF RECOMMENDATION <br />11 <br />J <br />6 2.1 The Planning Commission held the duly noticed public hearing pertaining to the <br />7 proposed TEXT AMENDMENT on July 2, 2008. No members of the public provided <br />8 comment on the proposal and after substantial discussion, the Planning Commission <br />9 voted 5-1 to recommend approval of the proposed changes. <br />ii o 2.2 Community Development staff concurs with the Planning Commission recommendation <br />1111 to approve the proposed TEXT AMENDMENT; see Section 9 of this report for the detailed <br />112 recommendation. <br />113 3.0 SUMMARY OF SUGGESTED ACTION <br />114 Adopt an ordinance approving the proposed ZONING ORDINANCE TEXT AMENDMENT, <br />11 11") pursuant to §101.03 (Amendments) of the City Code and approve an ordinance summary <br />116 for publication; see Section 10 of this report for the detailed action. <br />PROJO015-RCA-072808 (5).do <br />Page I of 101 <br />
