Department Approval <br />l <br />REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION <br />FWj a t e.- 08/25/08 <br />Ftem No..- 7.b <br />City Manager Approval <br />Item Description.- Request for Approval of General Purchases or Sale of Surplus Items <br />Exceeding $,5,000 <br />I BACKGROUND <br />2 City Code section 103.05 establishes the requirement that all general purchases and/or contracts in <br />3 excess of $,5,,000 be approved by the Council. In addition,, State Statutes require that the Council <br />4 authorize the sale of surplus vehicles and equipment. <br />6 General Purchases or Contracts <br />"7 City Staff have submitted the following items for Council review and approval.- <br />Department Vendor Item / Description Amount <br />r Recreation Custom Manufacturina Dale Street Bridae Replacement (PIP), $, 25,830.00 <br />9 <br />10 Sale of SMIus Vehicles or Equipment <br />"I'll City Staff have identified surplus vehicles and equipment that have been replaced and/or are no longer <br />12 needed to deliver City programs and services. These surplus items will either be traded in on replacement <br />13 items or will be sold in a public auction or bid process.
