46 169.79 VEHICLE REGISTRATION; DISPLAYING LICENSE PLATES. <br />4`7 Subdivision 1. Registration required. No person shall operate, drive, or park a motor <br />48 vehicle on any highway unless the vehicle is registered in accordance with the laws of this state. <br />49 Subd. 3. Rear display of single plate. If the vehicle is a motorcycle,, motor scooter,, <br />50 motorized bicycle, motorcycle sidecar, trailer registered at greater than 3,000 pounds gross <br />51 vehicle weight (GVW)�, semitrailer, or vehicle displaying a dealer plate, then one license plate <br />52 must be displayed on the rear of the vehicle. <br />53 171.02 LICENSES; TYPES, ENDORSEMENTS, RESTRICTIONS. <br />54 Subdivision 1. License required. Except when expressly exempted, a person shall not drive <br />55 a motor vehicle upon a street or highway in this state unless the person has a license valid under <br />56 this chapter for the type or class of vehicle being driven. <br />5 7' Subd. 3. Motorized bicycle. (a) A motorized bicycle may not be operated on any public <br />58 roadway by any person who does not possess a valid driver's license, unless the person has <br />59 obtained a motorized bicycle operator's permit or motorized bicycle instruction permit from the <br />60 commissioner of public safety. <br />Page 2 of 2 <br />
