2009 — 2018 Capital Improvement Plan <br />Public Works <br />Water Utility <br />Water Storage Tank painting and <br />rehabilitation <br />The City water storage tank was last <br />rehabilitated in 1995. Inspection has indicated <br />a need for repainting in the near future. Spot <br />repairs and additional rehabilitation will be <br />determined during project development. Paint <br />systems have 10-15 year useful life. Tank is <br />inspected at 5 year intervals to identify <br />potential developing rust and flaws. Protection <br />of underlying metal structure critical to the <br />longevity of the structure. <br />Supports systematic programs for <br />infrastructure replacement <br />Annual budget and water rate <br />recommendation to reflect cost of painting and <br />repair at 15 year intervals. Estimated <br />$,500,000 project cost for 2011. <br />Added 5 years to CIP. No ch�ange in projecte <br />cost for project. i <br />32 <br />
