Women's, istory Monti <br />M:?..rch 2008 <br />Whereas: The City of Roseville is committed to recognizing and honoring contributions <br />of all members of our community; and <br />Whereas: Women's History Week was established to accurately and completely promote <br />women's historical achievements; and <br />Whereas: In 1980 the Joint Congressional Resolution declared the week of March 8 as <br />National Women's History Week, and in 1987 Congress expanded the celebration of <br />women's contributions to the entire month of March; and <br />Whereas: The movement recognizes and celebrates the contributions that women of <br />every race, class and ethnic background have made to the world; and <br />Whereas: The 2008 National Women's History Month theme "Women's Art.- Women's <br />Vision" honors the originality, beauty, imagination, and multiple dimensions of women's <br />lives; and <br />Whereas: "Women's Art: Women's Vision" provides an opportunity to discover and <br />celebrate women's visual arts in a variety of forms and mediums that expand our perceptions <br />of ourselves and each other; and <br />Whereas: The Roseville Human Rights Commission celebrates the contributions that <br />generations of women have made to the City of Roseville and to the world. <br />Now, Therefore Be It Resolved, that the City Council hereby declare March 2008 to be <br />Women's History Month in the City of Roseville, County of Ramsey, State of Minnesota, <br />u.S.A <br />In Witness Whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Seal of the City of <br />Roseville to be affixed this 3rd day of March 2008. <br />Mayor Craig D.
