In an effort to help <br />define the harp enteur Ave. corridor and in. response to specific City <br />requests, we are se <br />proposing veral site amenities, <br />'S %.� <br />At the southwest comer of the site we propose a "Farmers Market" located <br />r <br />in an open air structule resembling the style of the super -market and also <br />intended to help define the commercial street. We have -found these types of <br />spaces to be very effective in other communities in helping IoClal <br />organization with their activities. Sporting leagues., Scout groups, Elks clubs <br />and other civic groups use this type of facility to hold e- vents like hotdog <br />sale fundraisers over the 4' " of July. Similarly, Christi -n.as trees can be sold <br />from it durimy the holiday season. This is a flexible space that adapts to a <br />t <br />variety of uses and helps promote community involvement. <br />To further enhance the Larpenteur Ave. corridor we are proposing a <br />landscaped and planted buffer between the parking field and the public way. <br />Startincy at the intersection of Larpenteur and Femwood, we have <br />Z: <br />incorporated. a pond with. a fountain adjacent to the Farmers Market. We are <br />hoping to establish. a gateway type component for people arriving fi-om. west <br />W <br />of this area. The pond will be surrounded be landscaping that will continue <br />-2- <br />
