Attachment D
this is a reasonable and prudent request, given the many, varied and passionate viewpoints,
regarding the proposal and the impact it will have on our entire community. We would
greatly appreciate your consideration of this request, and look forward to your reply.
Sincerely,
NIU111111pij qII 11111 In R 0 =1" • I
1,245 los,ephine Rd.
From
To: duane.s,chwartz@c4l.ros,eville.mn.usI
Subject: RE: Online Form Submittal: Contact Public Works, Re: los, ephine Woods,
Date: Wed, 2 Mar 201,1, 23:1,2:26 -0600
Duane, thank you for your reply. I attended the Planning Commis,s,ion meeting tonight. The
traffic impact study was briefly discussed by Debra Bloom, but there was a lot to absorb in a
very short amount of time Bottom line, as you expressed below, your commis,s,ion does, not
believe that this new development is enough of a trigger to warrant opening, up Cty C2 at this
point. Those of us, who live on los, ephine and Fern wood disagree and would argue that the
tipping point has long passed, and that we are disproportionately sharing an increased level
of traffic that we would not otherwise have primarily because Cty C2 is not open between
Lexington and Hamline. This traffic burden will only increase for los, ephine and Fern wood
with the new development. We are not as,king, that Cty C2 bear all the burden, we only as,k
that it help share the burden. I was disappointed that the commis,s,ion approved the proposal
as is
As for the public notice., there was, none. I was, on the phone with Council Member Tammy
McGehee yesterday who personally went to your own webs, ite to look up the information for me
(she was curious,, as well), and your webs, ite stated that an open house date would be posted
In the near future. In addition., the Pulte representative admitted tonight that they'd hoped
to have a community open house 11 prior to tonight I s, meetin , but had not. He then proceeded
to say that he would try to call one in the next week or so., now that they have gathered
input from the community at tonight 's, meeting'. This s,eems, completely backwards, to me, and I
would hope it would raise concern on the part of the Planning Committee and the City Council.
I am curious, as to what Ros,eville's, protocol is for community open hous,es, and what happens,
when it is not followed. Please advis,e.
As I mentioned before, I only learned about the proposal being discussed at this meeting on
Monday of this week. I'm certain many neighbors, still do not know. With so many
s,chools,/families, being on spring break over the coming few weeks,., it does, not feel like we
are being given adequate time to absorb and/or respond to the propos,al.
