Department Approval <br />Rls�kspvlffi� <br />REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION <br />Date: 5/19/08 <br />Item No.: 12.b <br />City Manager Approval <br />Item description: Skating Center Arena Geothermal Project — Campus Master Plan Presentation <br />BACKGROUND <br />The city entered into an agreement with Karges Faulconbridge Inc. (KFI) to conduct further study to <br />incorporate the geothermal system into the city campus. The scope of work included: conceptual <br />design, analysis of existing equipment, phased plan, preliminary cost estimates and payback based on <br />energy savings and current energy costs. <br />Included in your packet are an executive summary and a building site plan. KFI will be prepared to <br />present this to you in a more in depth power point and answer any questions you may have. <br />POLICY OBJECTIVE <br />The policy objective with this particular project involves consideration of the cost /benefit to implement <br />sustainable uses for facilities in the city of Roseville as well as long term planning. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACTS <br />Future costs as outlined by KFI to implement geothermal campus wide master plan. <br />REQUESTED COUNCIL ACTION <br />Discuss <br />Prepared by: Lonnie Brokke, Director of Parks and Recreation <br />Attachments: A: KFI executive summary <br />B.
