POLICY OBJECTIVE <br />The policy objective With this particular project involves consideration of the cost/benefit to implement <br />sustainable uses for facilities in the city of Roseville as Well as long term planning. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACTS <br />The total cost including all alternates excluding the replacement of the existing piping leading to the arena <br />rooftop units is $2,177,400 plus a $225,000 contingency. <br />The additional Well costs to prepare for the future campus expansion has not yet been obtained. <br />The anticipated annual savings is $23,400. <br />STAFF RECOMMENDATION <br />Considering all current and future options, staff recommends that the City Council consider authorizing <br />the Mayor and City Manager to finalize and sign the agreement With Harty Mechanical for the <br />installation of a "full" geothermal system at the Roseville Skating Center Arena at a cost not to exceed <br />$2,177,400 plus a $225,000 contingency. <br />Staff recommends that it Would be appropriate to install the additional Wells necessary to allow for <br />future expansion to the campus facilities to avoid parking lot disruptions and cost escalations in the <br />future. This would also serve as another redundancy factor for the arena system. <br />REQUESTED COUNCIL ACTION <br />Authorize the City Manager to finalize and sign the agreement with Harty Mechanical to install a "full" <br />geothermal system at the Roseville Skating Center Arena for an amount not to exceed $2,177,400, plus <br />a $225,000 contingency with final approval of documents by the City Attorney. <br />Authorize the City Manager to approve the cost of the additional wells necessary to be prepared for the <br />next phase of the campus geothermal plan as understood and presented and include in the contract <br />amount, based upon relative per foot and per hole costs, as appropriate. <br />Prepared by: Lonnie Brokke, Director of Parks and Recreation <br />Attachments: A: AIA Contract Documents — Including Quality Control Plan and Schedule <br />Page 2 of 2 <br />
