Rskspvlffi� <br />REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION <br />Department Approval <br />T_J - - <br />Date: 12/15/08 <br />Item No.: 7.h <br />City Manager Approval <br />Item Description: Authorization to Request Proposals for Janitorial Services for City of <br />Roseville Facilities <br />BACKGROUND <br />The City of Roseville contract for janitorial services for City facilities expires February 9, 2009. <br />Staff is in the process of writing a Request for Proposal for a new two -year janitorial contract <br />using the Best Value procurement process. The new contract will include service at City Hall, <br />Fire Station I, Harriet Alexander Nature Center, Skating Center, and the License Center. <br />RFP `s will be mailed out in December to enable the Council to award a contract in early <br />February. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACTS <br />The City budgets for contractual janitorial services for City Hall, Fire Station I, Harriet <br />Alexander Nature Center, the Skating Center, and the License Center. The objective of the <br />Request for Proposal process is to secure quality services that fall within budgeted amounts. <br />STAFF RECOMMENDATION <br />Staff recommends authorization to request proposals for a two -year janitorial service contract. <br />REQUESTED COUNCIL ACTION <br />Motion authorizing staff to advertise the Request for Proposals for j anitorial services for City <br />facilities. <br />Prepared by: Pat Dolan, Fleet & Facilities Supervisor <br />Page 1 of 1 <br />
